In the last decade, Dubai has become synonymous with luxury and opulence, a fairy tale oasis where people can actually experience what it like to live as Arabian royalty. Hotels in Dubai welcomed more than 5.8 million tourists early last year. There have been increases across key indicators including hotel establishment guests, hotel and hotel apartment room revenues, F&B revenue and average length of stay. Revenues for hoteliers saw significant growth.
Growth of hotel sector: Dubai has added more than 7,000 hotel rooms to its inventory, with the total now standing at 88,680 across 634 establishments. Dubai continues to be positioned as the must-experience family destination and hotels in Dubai are increasing their portfolio to attract, and cater to, a broader market of visitors. Strong growth is being seen from visitors across China, Brazil, Australia and many countries in Europe. Dubai’s top 10 tourism source markets remained Saudi Arabia, India, UK, US, Russia, China, Iran, Oman, Kuwait and Germany. Saudi Arabia continues to be Dubai’s primary source market while China and India show steady growth.
Cuisines in Dubai: There are restaurants in Dubai serving virtually every national cuisine from around the world, including many specializing in Dubai’s own Arabic delights. Each restaurant in Dubai is not simply somewhere to eat, but a destination for stunning decor, amazing views and unforgettable culinary experiences. Dubai has established itself as the Middle East’s leading culinary destination, attracting a string of top international chefs and offering plenty of top-notch international dining, with cuisines from around the world, often in memorable settings. Arabian food is, of course, particularly excellent and well represented, and one might occasionally come across local Gulf specialties.
Beaches to visit in Dubai: When exploring a destination as vibrant as Dubai, it’s important to allow time to unwind, and with beautiful beaches, there are endless options for visitors. UAE has 1,318km of coastline to its name, and that’s not including the combined length of the man-made constructions such as the Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira. Palace Beach/Media City Beach is best for families with young, kids and anyone looking to catch some rays on a mostly deserted stretch of sand. This beautiful hangout is located between the two palaces, just before Palm Jumeirah. Many visit beach in Dubai to fish at sunset or splash around in the calmer waters. The beach also has sweeping views of the Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah, and is remarkably clean, and much quieter than nearby beaches.
